Why are SFA/FIA/SIA procedures usually not the best option for measuring an analyte in a highly complex sample such as blood?

Answer #1
  • In highly complex samples there will be many components in the sample.
  • For purification it is important to separate each component from the sample.
  • By following segmented flow analysis or flow injection analysis the samples can be crudely checked for a particular component.
  • Here each single component cannot be separated .This is a major drawback.
  • Moreover in such procedures , the analyte used for measuring itself interferes with the components of the sample.
  • Centrifugal analysers and discrete analysers are more effective in separating complex samples and hence segmented flow analysis or flow injection analysis are of less interest.
  • These methods also involve lot of reagents that are toxic to the sample and hence there is limitation in usage of such procedures.
  • Hence these are the above reasons for limitation in use of such procedures .

He’d spent the last hour and a half of a humid July afternoon on his riding lawnmower. “Why am I out here melting when I have three able-bodied sons would could be mowing?” Bob muttered. He decided to head back to the house for an ice cold drink and to draft his 19-year-old son to finish the weekly mowing. About 15 yards from the back of his garage, Bob’s mower lurched, made a horrible noise,...
