What should vaccine elicit Neutralizing antibodies to kill free virus or T cell response to kill infected cells or both ??explain

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Vaccines are introduced into the body in form of antigen which elicit the antibodies to kill free virus. They stimulate the production of antibody they fight the invader antigen which protect the body from further infection by same antigen.vaccines are made of dead and weakened antigen where immune system considers them as antigen and produces antibody.

Tcell respOnse are elicited also they produce killer cells and memory cell which further produce antigen killing cells.t lymphocytes memory cell remains which fights any further infection s present

So hereby both response are produced on vaccine

1. Neutralizing antibodies are effective at preventing infection or toxicity mediated by pathogens or their toxic products. In fact, nearly all vaccines currently in use function by eliciting neutralizing antibodies. The most important feature of a neutralizing antibody is: A. Having a high degree of multi-valency, such as being a pentamer or hexamer of immunoglobulin monomers B. Having high affinity for the antigen C. Being present at a high concentration in the circulation D. Being efficient at activating the complement...

Place the following statements that describe the 5 steps in an adaptive immune response in the order in which they occur. -Long lived-immune cells allow the second response to a given microbe to be stronger and faster than the first response -Adaptive immune cells are born in the bone marrow, then mature in either the bone marrow or the thymus -Adaptive immune cells use specific receptor proteins to bind to antigens very specifically -Intracellular signaling pathways are initiated, causing the...

A host organism needs time, often days, to mount an immune response against a new antigen, but memory cells permit a rapid response to pathogens previously encountered. A vaccine to protect against a particular viral infection often consists of weakened or killed virus or isolated proteins from a viral protein coat. When injected into a person, the vaccine generally does not cause an infection and illness, but it effectively teaches the immune system what the viral particles look like, stimulating...
