Transpiration is the process of loss of water in the form of water vapour from the surface of plant body.
Following are the advantages of transpiration -
The loss of water from the surface of plant body provide a cooling effect. This is particularly important for plants living in dry climatic areas with high temperature.
Second advantage is that it helps in the the removal of excess water which has been absorbed by plants through roots.
Third advantage is that it helps to balance water pressure inside the cells of plants.
Fourth advantage is it helps in the transportation of water from the roots to aerial parts of the plant.
Last advantage is that it also helps in the exchange of gases.
