Homo sapiens

Homo sapiens (humans) is the only extant human species.

Humans are found throughout the world in all terrestrial habitats, ranging from all continents to habitable islands except Antarctica.

The earliest fossil evidence of early Homo sapiens appeared in Africa around 300,000 years ago.

Behaviours that are specific to these organisms are:

• They were all once hunter- gatherers living on wild plants and animals. Later on they began to domesticate plants and animals. The diet is now omnivorous including all kinds of plants, leaves, animals etc.
• Homo sapiens are bipedal that is they can walk upright on two legs.
• Humans are sexual organisms and can reproduce sexually. They are capable of breeding throughout the year.
• Development big big brain and cognitive abilities is an important behaviour of these organisms.
