She is in good physical condition. The ophthalmologist takes a medical history and physical and neurological examination and orders a test of the patient’s thyroid in addition to routine diagnostic tests. Test results are normal and the patient is sent home with a referal to an optometrist.

Myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune, neuromuscular disease that causes weakness in the skeletal muscles that worsens after periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. It occurs when normal communication between the nerve and muscle is interrupted at the neuromuscular junction. Symptoms of this are blurred or double vision, a change in facial expression, drooping of one or both eyelids, and impaired speech.

Sixth nerve palsy may affect one or both eyes, depending on its cause. The most common symptom of sixth nerve palsy is double vision when both eyes are open. The onset can be caused by stroke and infection, among other things.

Myasthenia gravis is the weakness and rapid fatigue of muscles under voluntary control. The main cause of this disease is the problem in the communication between nerves and muscles. It is a kind of auto immune disease and symptoms include muscle weakness, double vision, drooping eyelids and difficulties in communication (speaking), chewing, swallowing and breathing. If it is effect on the face muscles, emotions cannot be express effectively. Some people with this condition have tumors in thymus gland. Some factors can boost up the disease such as fatigue, stress, illness, some medications, pregnancy and menstrual periods.
