Spin-sin relaxation time, which is also known as 'T2' is major characteristic of Magnetic resonance imaging. T2 is time constant for decay of transverse magnetisation., abbreviated as 'Mxy'

MRI scanning is lengthy procedure for which patient should remain still for long periods which seems to be very difficult. Such movement artifacts or motion artifacts can damage image quality or itmay interfere with MRI interpretation. This can be minimised or removed by

  1. stabilisation measures like foam pads etc.
  2. sedation or general anaesthesia for patients with high anxiety
  3. fat suppression techniques
