The above mentioned characterstics are of gram positive Staphylococcus hyicus. They are medium sized (0.6- 2 micrometers), white and opaque colonies, cocci shaped. The white and glistening colonies are 1-7 mm in diameter that grows at an optimum temperature of 30-35 C.
They have catalase enzyme, have enzymes for nitrate reduction (nitrate test), acid producing, can grow in Blood agar and mannitol salt agar as these provide nutrients for the culture to grow.
