Ans 1) The protein array can be used for tracking the interaction and activities of proteins and helps in determining the functions. It uses a chip that consists of support surface like glass slide, microtitre plate etc. that captures array of proteins and probe is added to the same. After the proteins are arrayed on the slides or membranes or beads it is immobilized. It is then covered with a coating that immobilise the protein, prevent denaturation and makes the binding side of the protein available. It uses fluorescent labels and tags to help in understanding of the protein protein interaction.

The most common method that helps in identifying the protein protein interaction is with help of the fluorescence labelling. The labels are attached to the probes and with help of an array of methods the fluorescence is checked for.
