Genetic screens is considered as an experimental technique in order to identify individuals among mutagen population with special phenotype. Genetic screening is one kind of phenotypic screeing.

Secondary screening is a process in genetic screeing which is performed at higher resolution (i.e. if study uses microscope, it is performed at confocal microscopic level). It is mainly applied to promising mutants in genetic screening to identify individuals with special phenotype or special mutants from the primary selected ones. In other words, it confirms the selection of mutants of interest from a primary cluster.
