explain why the body must mantain chemical and physical homeostatis of the fluid that sorround the cell and discuss some ways this occurs. include an example of a complication when this fails

Homework Answers

Answer #1

It is very important that the intercellular fluid must maintain its properties like, pH, temperature, blood sugar, salt concentrations in a Homeostatis (stable or equilibrium) way.

Because stable conditions are required for the proper functioning of enzymes reaction within the cell.

  • Homeostasis processes in body:

_ Osmoregulation : concentrations of salt, water, and urea is regulated.

_ Thermoregulation: process of maintaining body temperature.

_Chemical regulation: like regulation of glucose level in blood

_ Elimination of metabolic wastes out of body.

  • In case of Complication, example:

In case of Thermoregulation failure, the body temperature may become too low ( Hypothermia) or too high ( heatstroke).
