What is the NAD, what is its role in the process of carbohydrate
degradation
and how the NAD is related to the functioning of the transport
chain of electrons? Give detailed answer.
Answere :
NAD or Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide is a coenzyme involved in the reversible oxidation and reduction reactions. These compounds are electron carrier because they accept electron during catobolic process steps in the breakdown of organic compounds such as carbohydrates i.e glucose etc.
Then these reduced coenzyme donate these electron to some other biochemical reaction normally involved in the process i.e anabolism e.g. synthesis of ATP (Electron Transport Chain).
