Genetics, please explain: How will a genomic library made from a human from a human male liver and a genomic library made from a human female liver differ?
A genetic library refers to the sum total collection of all the genes from a cell, tissue, organ or organism. This can be a collection of DNA, RNA or cDNA, depending upon the requirement of the library.
Liver is a non-reproductive organ which is essentially required to sustain life and maintain homeostasis. Due to involvement of only non-gametic genes in liver development, all the hepatic genes are same in males and females.
Thus, a hepatic gene library from male or female liver would be identical in nature.
