FSC (forward scattering) is proportional to relative size of a cell whereas SSC( side scattering) is proportional to internal complexity or granularity of a cell.

lymphocytes are small cells, lacking any type of granules, hence will have a low FSC and SSC value.

Monocytes are bigger in size, and less granular than neutrophils, hence will have highest FSC and intermediate SSC.

Neutrophils have the highest granularity and hence have the highest SSC and FSC comparable to that of monocytes.
