Q:1Know the circulatory system carries oxygen to body cell and why it is important?
Q:2 know the 3 main types of blood vessels and their function ?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1. The circulatory system is designed to circulate oxygen and nutrients absorbed from the food to various parts of the body through blood circulation as well as removal of wastes. This is important for the survival of the cells of an organ that implicates the proper functioning of the whole body.

2. The different blood vessels are arteries, veins, and capillaries.

Arteries carry the oxygenated blood from the heart to various body parts. They divide like a tree wherein blood is collected from the left ventricle of the heart. The only exception is pulmonary artery from heart and lungs.

Capillaries are the smallest arteries through which only one cell can be traveled at once.

Veins carry the deoxygenated blood and are only one way to prevent reverse direction of blood flow. The only exception is pulmonary veins from lungs to heart.

The aorta is the largest artery found in the body which carries oxygen-rich blood away from the heart as it begins the systemic blood flow circuit throughout the body. Owing to the fact that the aorta connects to the heart, the blood pressure inside the aorta is very high. As blood travels further from the heat, BP gradually decreases. Based on the understanding that walls of the aorta are exposed to highly extreme outward pressure, hypothesize the order of specific...

The human circulatory system delivers oxygenated blood from the lungs throughout the human body to enable the transport to and from body cells of oxygen, carbon dioxide, nutrients, hormones and blood cells. A variety of sizes of arteries and veins are required to ful?l this need. (a) A typical heartbeat pumps 75 mL of blood over a time span of 0.36 seconds into the aorta. If under this pressure the aorta expands to a diameter of 4.2 mm, what is...
