Hi Answer:
Q. What type of macromolecules are enzymes?
Answer: Macromolecules are those molecules which are very big in size and commonly made by the combination of several monomer units. Most common example of macromolecules proteins which is the polymer of amino acids. The enzymes are the protein macromolecules because all enzymes are proteins except some RNA which act as enzyme known as ribozymes. The enzymatic proteins are made up by the polymerization of amino acids. These macromolecules (enzyme) catalyze the reaction by lowering the activation energy of the substrates and more and more substrates are being converted into products without exhausting or evolving itself in the reaction, means enzyme can be recovered after the catalyses.
