Which of the following is NOT Affected by soil pH?

A. Activity of microorganism

B. Availability of most of the essential nutrients

C. The Soil Water Holding Capacity

D. Performance of Some herbicides.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans) The soil water holding capacity

Water holding capacity of soil is not depend on PH of soil.PH is chemical property of soil but water holding capacity depend on Physical properties of soil like size of particle present in the soil. The small particle like clay and silt have larger surface area than sand particles so these large surface area allow the soil to hold larger quantity of water. The amount of organic material in the soil also affect the water holding capacity of soil.
