How can gene expression be controlled
Gene expression is occured through several mechanism which can control either the production of mRNA or proein. There are several steps where a gene expression is controlled, such as
chromatin modification- changes in the chromatin pattern allows transcription factors to directly interact with DNA and thereby control gene expression.
transcriptional regulation- A gene expression can be regulated at the level of transcription through proteins which will bind to the regulatory sequences of DNA.
tranaslation- gene regulation can occur at any point of translation such as initiation, chain elongation or termination.
posttranscriptional modifications- posttranslational modification such as phosphorylation can regulate the activity of protein.
