I'm learning about Tajima's D and I don't understand what excess of low frequency SNPs means.

How can something have a low frequency and be excess. i don't get it

Answer #1

The purpose of Tajima's D test is to distinguish between a DNA sequence evolving randomly ("neutrally") and one evolving under a non-random process, including directional selection or balancing selection, demographic expansion or contraction, genetic hitchhiking, or introgression. A randomly evolving DNA sequence contains mutations with no effect on the fitness and survival of an organism. The randomly evolving mutations are called "neutral", while mutations under selection are "non-neutral"

The point which u didn't get is - occurance of rare /low frequency of SNPs which get in excess amount.simple.

How could you paraphrase or rewrite this one: "I'm expecting to end this course with a better sense of what events in childhood affect how I see the world around me. My hope is that through this class I can better understand my peers and friends around me as I get to know their stories and how their environments shaped who they are. I'm taking this course because I find child development very fascinating. I hope to have children of...

I understand that it will be higher frequency—pleasure explain what the wavelength/wave speed will be. I put this part in bold so you can see. A siren sounds on a stationary ambulance. As compared to a stationary observer, an observer who is driving towards the ambulance at a constant speed would measure the sound wave produced by the siren to have: i. a higher frequency, shorter wavelength, and the same wave speed. ii. a higher frequency, shorter wavelength, and a...

In chemistry I'm having problems solving equilibrium problems because I don't know how to rearrange the equation: how do you reaarange this: given: kp = 0.997 0.997= [3.00]^2 [O2] / [0.520]^2 you need to find [O2]. I don't need you to actually solve this, just provide me with examples of how to set this up so I can solve for [O2] or if you have: k=[0.1-x]^2 [0.5-2x]^3 / [2.3-3x]^2

I have a question about this solution. I don't understand why profit isn't maximized at 15,000 bottles - the overall profit at $15 per bottle (assuming that doesn't change) is higher as well as per unit than the output of 20,000 bottles (even though this was the most cost effective output). http://www.chegg.com/homework-help/unit-costs-profit-maximizing-outputthe-controller-canandaigu-chapter-2-problem-57p-solution-9780078110917-exc?token=W4flVrKd3vhEZ8mrAi_aoSLOke3As0zxscor--8wt5MX27JEwWf08jy2aVm_FDeREIZZhzhI7X3ZFQrDDHWeOfr0b2uuanPpMeO7KFyJBRmajXJPd2zhxuDhsAaMitdh

What exactly makes Mediacom and Comcast Monopolies? I understand that they are under the control of the government and, by definition, they do not have any competition. But what is the market they are dominating, that competition doesn't have a chance fighting against? I ask this because when I think Comcast, I'm thinking a bundle of Wifi, TV, and home phone. Yet I do believe a company like Charter does something similar.

Because I've checked the answer for a) and it is A= {{a,b}, {a,c}, {a,d}, {b,c}, {b,d}, {c,d}}. I don't understand because the cardinality of A has to be 2 right? Meanwhile, the answer is basically saying there's 6 elements. So...
