  • This is mainly because of accumulation of nutrition in the cones.
  • The germination effects are greater for pine cones that are large . So 2 year cones have greater germination percentage than 1 year cone.
  • So, as the age of the cone progresses the size, diameter , germination capacity and nutrition of the cone increases .
