Transpiration is the process of loss of water from the surface of plant in the form of water vapour. It is dependent upon many external and internal factors.
One such factor is the speed of wind. Around the leaves of plant, a layer of air is present which is called as boundary layer. This boundary layer prevents the rapid loss of water from the surface of leaf and thereby slows down the rate of transpiration. But if the speed of wind is very high in the environment, then the boundary layer is also blown off at the rate of transpiration increases.
