Describe the pyrimidine biosynthesis pathway

Describe the pyrimidine biosynthesis pathway

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans: Nucleic acids made up of with nucleotides (NT). NTs containing three components a) Nitrogen bases b) Ribose sugar c) phosphate. a) Nitrogen bases are divided into two groups 1) purines: having two rings (C and N heterocycles) pyrimidine ring and imidazole ring (A and G). 2) Pyrimidines having only one ring that is pyrimidine rind which having two nitrogen and four carbon in the cycle as represented in Image. The synthesis of NTs through biosynthesis pathways by using amino acids. Please see the pathway in given image.

Consider enzyme 2 in the pyrimidine biosynthesis pathway. This enzyme is aspartate transcarbamoylase (ACTase), and it catalyzes the conversion of aspartate and carbamoyl phosphate to carbamoyl aspartate. Imagine a scenario in which CTP is inhibiting ACTase. The binding of CTP as an allosteric inhibitor converts ACTase into which allosteric form?
