What is a common aspect of all mechanisms of speciation we have discussed?
A common aspect of all mechanisms of speciation that we have discussed includes random mutations. Random mutations are always occuring across all species. When there are no physical barriers, adaptive mutation will eventually reach out to all the members of a population and will result in speciation. If there are barriers, interbreeding will not take place among the two and the two sets will acquire different sets of mutations; they would be termed as two subpopulations and hence will result in speciation.
