Fossil s are impression of a plant or animal that are formed due to pressure they remain in petrified form.

Fossils are formed from hard remains as soft remains undergo decay to fossils of bones,teeth are generally formed.

The requirements are

1)the organisms must be buried immediately so that oxygen supply is cut off so that the decay is slowed doen.

2)the soil should be soft as the organism can be buried easily

3)heat and pressure are required which helps to liberate the oxygen and hydrogen from the remains of organism and the carbon is left behind this is also called carbonization which leaves a carbon impression.

4)the organism must be burried in mineral leached water where there precipitating carbonates this mineral replace the original tissue but stone holds tge shape of the original tissue.
