Polymerase Chain Reaction is a method performed for the amplification of DNA pieces.
Functions of reagents are:
1. Nucleotide : The molecule of DNA is made of monomer called nucleotides. Nucleotide of DNA are of 4 kind Adenine, Thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. Adenine base pair with thymine with 2 hydrogen bonds and Cytosine base pair with guanine with 3 hydrogen bonds.
2. Polymerase- In PCR, Taq polymerase enzyme is used, this is thermostable enzyme as it can survive in high temperature without getting denatured. This enzyme is isolated from Thermus aquaticus.
3. Primers- in order to synthesize DNA primers are needed. Primers are short DNA or RNA sequences complwmentary to the DNA template. It will be the starting point for DNA polymerase to function.
