Chemical tests to detect enzyme deficiencies can be used to detect any type of genetic disorder; DNA analysis is just a faster alternative.

True

False

Answer #1

Answer " False"

DNA analysis provides the deep information about the genetic potential to develop disorders such as lack of essential enzyme synthesis. On the basis of that information the physician can recommend the safety precaution to prevent the disorder development.

Few cases were studied and found that patients look normal and healthy but after DNA analysis it shows the potential of disease development. After that patients change their lifestyle to prevent the disease development.

DNA analysis carried through two methods, one is automated or Direct PCR method which one is faster than the manual method which involves the long process for DNA preparation.

As per Above statements we can say that DNA analysis is not only faster alternative but also provides the reliable results in diagnosis.

Pedigrees are often used in humans to examine the transmission patterns of genetic diseases. They can be used to determine if a disease is autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, X-linked recessive, or X-linked dominant. The pedigree below shows inheritance of Huntington's Disease, a rare disorder which destroys nerve cells of the brain. (A) Which type of inheritance does Huntington's Disease follow? How did you make this determination? (B) What is the genotype of individual II-6? (C) What is the genotype of...

Hydrogen gas can be used in a chemical reaction to produce electricity. This type of electric generator is called a fuel cell and it may replace gasoline engines in cares in the next few years. The hydrogen gas used in fuel cells must be generated by chemical reactions. One method used to generate hydrogen gas is to pass an electric current through water. The electricity used to split the water molecules could come from renewable energy sources such as solar...

Why are type II endonucleases, instead of types I and III, preferably used in molecular biology? A. Endonucleases I and III use ATP and cut away from their recognition sites, but an endonuclease II enzyme does not use ATP and cuts within the recognition sequence B. Endonucleases I and III cut at only a few DNA sequences, whereas endonuclease II enzymes cut at a very large number of recognition sequences C. Endonucleases I and III are large, which causes highly...
