Answer #1

Ans. #1. True.

Yucca (cassava)- starchy tuberous root is a chemical form (starch) of sun’s energy in plant. During photosynthesis, solar energy is harvested in the form of chemical energy (carbohydrates). So, carbohydrates like glucose and starch are the chemical transformation of solar energy by plants during photosynthesis.

#2. False.

Leaves act like the solar to harness sun’s energy. The solar energy harvested by leaves is directly used for the biosynthesis of carbohydrates.

However, the solar energy harvested by leaves is NOT used for cellular respiration.
