Most organelles are surrounded by a membrane that is

A. Rigid because the phospholipids are physically bound to each other.

B. Made up mostly of proteins

C. A single layer of phospholipids.

D. Similar in structure to the plasma membrane of the cell

Answer #1

Answer. D. Similar in structure to the plasma membrane of the cell.

Cells are basic unit and functional structure of life which are composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. All oraganisms are made up of one or more cells and new cells are generated by self-replication. Cells contain organelles which include mitochondria, endoplasmis reticulum, golgi bodies, lysosome. Each organelles perform specific function. Like plasma membrane, oraganelles membranes function to keep the inside 'in' and the outside "out". This membrane allows chemical reaction and synthesis product to be kept separate from one another by compartmentalizing there reactions and this compartments are surrounded by lipid layers.

Which statement is true about a plasma membrane? Group of answer choices It is a rigid structure that protects the cell like a shell. It is composed of a single layer of phospholipids. The molecules that make up most of the plasma membrane are polar at their heads and tails. The molecules that make up the membrane are phospholipids. The molecules making up the plasma membrane are locked in place.
