What is nice conservationism and what do we often look at when defining this variable? With niche conservation in mind I would like you talk about adaptive radiation. What is it? What drives it? What are some example of its occurences?

Niche conservationism is the ability of an organism to retain its ancestral traits. We look at phylogenetic signal while defining this variable. Adaptive radiation is when a group of organism diversify from their ancestral species into another form. Adaptive radiation is a result of a change in the environmental conditions particularly with the availibility of resouces. E.g Darwin's Finches in the Galapagos archipelago which are thought to have evolved as a result of adaptive radiation in their beaks were modified according to their source of food.
