The nitrogen regulated genes of the Ntr regulon of Escherichia coli are activated by the enhancer binding transcriptional activator NRI approximately p.Here examination is done on the glna as cells undergo transition from growth on ammonia to nitrogen starvation and also the amplification of NRI during transition.It indicates that the concentration of NRI is increased as the cells are starved of ammonia concurrent with the activation of Ntr genes which have less efficient enhancers than glna.A diauxic growth pattern has been obtained when E.coli was grown on low concentration of ammonia.glna becomes activated only upon amplification of NRI concentration.
