OF MUTATION in FLOPPASES:-
- The phospholipid
molecules after being synthesized, gets attached with the cytosolic
phase of the bilayer.
- It is the floppases
that move the newly addes phospholipid molecules from the cytosolic
face to the extracellukar face.
- If the movement is
stopped due to mutation, there will be imbalance and the fluidity
of the cell membrane will diminish.
- Most importantly, the
cell divison mechanism will be greatly
hampered.
CONSEQUENCE
OF MUTATION OF THE FLIPASES:-
- Due to this the
existing lipid molecules in the extracellular face wont be recyled
and any damage to the phospholipd molecule's head groups or the
chemical groups will persist as it is and this can be disastrous
for the cell.
