Answer #1

Viruses are spread from cell to cell by two methods

  1. Direct cell to cell contact
  2. Diffusion through extra celular space

Direct cell to cell transmission:

  • it involves the following steps
  1. Inter cellular adhesion
  2. Cellular polarity
  3. Intra cellular trafficking

Diffusion through extracellular space

  • ?it is also called as cell free transmission
  • It doesn't involve adhesion as in case of first mechanism
  • It involves secretion of substances in the extracellular space to infect the adjacent cell

Q2. A virus must replicate in the infected cell and orchestrate the assembly of virion constituents to produce progeny viruses and propagate itself. This often happens at the expense of the infected cell. A radical but ultimately effective response to stop virus replication is for the infected cell to self-destruct via apoptosis. Some viruses have evolved strategies to overcome this. A. Some Coronoviruses does it by inducing apoptosis of the killer lymphocyte cells. How does apoptosis of killer lymphocyte cells...
