Answer #1

Question 3

Option - cis acting element

Promoter is a cis acting element which consists of short sequence which helps in initiation of gene expression. In order to inhibit the over expression of gene the promoter sequence is in such a way that transcription factors binds at correct order only once and subsequently binding of RNA polymerase starts the expression of the gene.

Question 4

Option - overlapping of DNA fragments

A contig is formed by overlapping of DNA fragments resulting in consensus region. A contig can be prepared from any type of clone such as overlapping cDNA sequence, bacterial artificial chromosome, yeast artificial chromosome.
