Whole genome sequencing is the technique is also called next-gen sequencing method and includes the sequencing of complete genetic material. It includes all the exons and introns. Whole genome sequencing involves sequencing of complete genome also intron because intron are important in regulation snd control of gene expression. Sequencing of complete genome faclitate the identification and isolation of genes. And also important in genetic disorders. First whole genome sequenced was Arabidopsis thaliana in plants and in animals Haemophilus influenzae. Human genome was sequenced in 2003.
