Applications	It is used to determine the morphology of the bacterial cells like size, shape and arrangement of the bacteria cells.
Staining principle	They both use the same principle for staining, as the surface of the bacterial cell is negatively charged, we use dyes with negative and positive charge to identify the type of bacterial cell and their morphology. If there will be positive charge dye, cell of bacteria will get stained and thus can be studied whereas if negative stain is used then the cell will not get stained and instead the background will be stained and the light colored cell can be differentiated.
