How does the definition of a species differ between individuals that undergo sexual versus asexual reproduction?
In sexual reproduction, species is defined aa group of similar organisms capable of interbreeding to produce fertile offsprings. However, in asexual reproduction, where organisms divide by binary fission, budding, regeneration etc, this definition doesn't apply. So, species concept for asexual organisms was centered around biological and visual properties. But now they are defined on the basis of genomic sequences.
They are a monophyletic, genomically similar cluster of organisms that show high degree of coherence in many characteristics.
