Do all the cells in your body use all their DNA? Explain Why or Why not?
No all cells in the body do not use all their DNA . Cells are accumulated to ultimately make an organ. And the specific organ have a specific type of cells. e.g. liver cells are not same as brain cells or kidney cells. They have different structure, textures, and colour. But all the cells have same DNA in their nucleus. So , the gene expression must be different for all cells. They make different types of protein, they have different functions. Actually , the whole gene is not expressed ,some part of the DNA is expressed and some part of the DNA will be off forever. The expression controlled via cell signalling and programming . Different cells shuts down different parts of the DNA and that's why we get a particular type of cell that does a particular functions which saves time, energy and economic for cell.
