Answer #1

In plant transformation experiments antibiotic resistance gene and herbicide resistance genes like ampr gene for amplicilin resistance and gene like Bar gene may induce herbicide resistance and a these genes are used as markers for selection of transformed cells. These genes may be inserted into plasmids or vector which also carries foreign gene and when experiment is performed than transformed cells will show resistance against antibiotics or herbicide andafaclitate the selection and screening.
