​​​​​​R point is a checkpoint towards the end of G1 phase in cell cycle.

Explanation :-

Step1 -Cell cycle is the series of events in a cell including growth and division. A cell cycle is divided in some stages like - Gap phase, synthesis phase, gap phase 2 and mitosis phase.

Step 2- there are some checkpoints in Gap phases for the ensuring of requirements of next phase.

Step - R point is found at end of G1 phase and called restriction point in eukaryotes. If DNA is damaged, at this point transcription factors work and cell cycle is stopped.
