A clone is morphologically and genetically Organism identical to it's parent. In other words the exact replica of it's parent.

Dolly's mother being black faced, she was white faced Sheep, Scientists started to do trials to find out what could be the possible reasons for it.  

The best thing to look for it was mitochondrial DNA, and investigating it brought up the result that she was actually a clone, which was 1st successful mammal developed from an adult mammary gland cell.

Dolly became famous because of this beautiful fact that she was developed from an adult mammary cell.
