Meiosis occurs in_________ cells and results in __________ of the homologous

chromosome number of the resultant daughter cells

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Meiosis occurs in germinal cells and results in reduction of the homologous chromosome number of the resultant daughter cells.

The meiosis occurs in the germinal cell only. In germinal cell the parents cells divide into dissimilar daughter cells that are genetically different and have half the number of chromosomes.

The homologous chromosome found in the daughter cells are genetically dissimilar and exactly half in number to parent cells.
