Infertility is the inability to become pregnant after one year of intercourse without contraception involving a male and female partner. The World Health Organization considers infertility to be “a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourse”.
