Answer #1

The functional unit of kidney is nephron. Following are the parts and function :

1- Glomerulus : It has a filtrative action but it does not allow plasma to filter through it.

2- Bowmans capsule : Also helps in filtration

3- Proximal tubules : It absorbs Most of the sodium.ion

4- Loop of henle : This maintains the medullary osmotic gradient.

5- Distal convoluted tubule : It is also for sodium and other ions absorption.

6- Collecting ducts : For concentrating and transport urine to the renal calyces.
