Please answer the following questions. Your reply to each of the questions should be 50 -100 words in length. It must be in your own words and remember to cite your sources.
1) List the different T cell subsets, their functions and their unique receptors, especially T cell receptor.
2) Discuss any TWO cytokines from the list below as regards, the type, sources and function. (e.g. IL1 and IL 2)
a) Interleukins- IL 1, IL 2, IL 4, IL 6, IL 10 & IL 14
b) Tumor necrosis factors: TNF- Alpha & Beta
c) Interferons – Alpha, Beta and Gamma
1.Mainly different types of T cells subsets are: CD4 and CD8 cells
CD4:they play important role in immune system mainly in adaptive immune system.
CD8:they play main function in killing cancer cells, damaged cells, infected cells
T cell receptors is molecule found on surface of T cells and responsible for identifying fragments of antigen as peptide bound to major histocompability molecules.
2.
IL1:
type:cytokine group
source:activared by microphages
function-it activates monocytes,macrophages,osteoclast etc
IL2.
type:cytokine group
source:activated CD4 T cells produced IL2
function:main function is to promote development of T regulatory cells.
