Homework Answers

Answer #1

Territoriality may give the animal some kind of assurance to obtain resources which can be food, mates and territory. Also it could give social structure to the ecosystem, that may help in dividing the resources. But, it can have a cost as it would increase the fights to mantain it and also the deployments to defend it, this would take an amount of energy and time for the organism, so there would be less time and energy available for other aspects in life like taking care of the offspring.

Proximate cuases may vary but mainly is having resources like food and mates.

The ultimate cause is to increase the probability to survive and reproduce, and by doing so, mantaining the species.
