Process by which the mitochondria, the chloroplast, lysosomes, peroxisomes, cytoskeleton, plasmalemma, are duplicated during the Interphase

Homework Answers

Answer #1

mitochondria and chloroplast have their own DNA. so, the replication of mt DNA and cp DNA occurs semi-independent on nuclear DNA replication. they replicate by binary fission.

other organelles such as endoplasmic reticulum are divided into pieces contained in vesicles. these vesicles are then separated into two daughter cells. the allocation of the organelles into daughter cells is not well understood. the duplication of the organelles occurs in gap phases, mostly in G2 phase. some books state that organelles such as mitochondria, chloroplast and ribosomes need not be distributed equally to the daughter cells.

Which is the best description of how burning coal contributes to acid rain? During the process of burning coal, acids are released into the atmosphere and are precipitated during rain storms. During the process of burning coal, nonmetal oxides are produced which react with the moisture in our atmosphere and sometimes the oxygen as well to produce acid rain. By-products of coal fired power plants include metal oxides which combine with the moisture in our atmosphere to produce acid rain....

A system of mass 10 kg undergoes a process during which there is no work, the elevation decreases by 50 m, and the velocity increases from 15 m/s to 50 m/s. The specific internal energy decreases by 5 kJ/kg and the acceleration of gravity is constant at 9.8 m/s2. Determine the change in kinetic energy, in kJ, and the amount of energy transfer by heat for the process, in kJ.
