Process by which the mitochondria, the chloroplast, lysosomes, peroxisomes, cytoskeleton, plasmalemma, are duplicated during the Interphase
mitochondria and chloroplast have their own DNA. so, the replication of mt DNA and cp DNA occurs semi-independent on nuclear DNA replication. they replicate by binary fission.
other organelles such as endoplasmic reticulum are divided into pieces contained in vesicles. these vesicles are then separated into two daughter cells. the allocation of the organelles into daughter cells is not well understood. the duplication of the organelles occurs in gap phases, mostly in G2 phase. some books state that organelles such as mitochondria, chloroplast and ribosomes need not be distributed equally to the daughter cells.
