How Animals are important in regenerative agriculture?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

In this context, the regenerative agriculture is based on sequester carbon into the soil in order to recover the properties of the soil. In this process, animals are very important because the form part of a cycle. The more vegetable matter grows in the soil, the highest photosynthesis rate is accomplished and the plants will be larger. Animals such as bison produce manure and they trample the plants. The plants will decompose and the carbon will be retained into the soil. This will make the soil healthier, the plants will grow again and the soil will enhance its water retention.

At the end, the cycle will be repeated and the soil will need less fertilizer to grow.
