Dimorphism in the fungal organism.
A fungi which has the ability to change from a multi-cellular fungi to a unicellular yeast during its life cycle or vice a versa is called as dimorphic fungi. These fungi are mainly pathogenic and cause diseases in humans like candidiasis, blastomycosis. An example of dimorphic fungi is candida albicans it causes candidiasis in humans and animals. Another example is that of Talaromyces marneffei which grows as a mould at room temperature and yeast inside human body and cause a disease called taloromycosis in humans.
