The cytoskeletal is a network of protein fibers found in all eukaryotic cells. One type of cytoskeletal fiber is made of tubulin proteins These fibers form the mitotic spindle, cilia and the eukaryotic (but not the bacterial) flagellum. They are called____________.
Ans. Microtubules
There are 3 types of cytoskeletal fibres i.e. microfilament, microtubules and intermediate filaments. The microfilament is made up of actin and are thinnest filaments of the cytoskeleton. The microtubules are composed of alpha- and beta-tubulin subunits assembled into linear protofilaments which helps in mitosis, cell motility, intracellular transport, and maintenance of cell shape.
