Lactic acid fermentation:

In animals , lactate is formed in the muscles is recycled to glucose in the liver. Initially certain bacteria species e,.g lactobacillus oxidizes NADH by transforming pyruvate into lactate and the process is known as lactic acid fermentation . This fermentation is catalyzed by the help of enzyme known as lactate dehydrogenase.

Alcoholic fermentation:

It occurs in yeast and several bacterial species pyruvate is converted into ethanol in a two step pathway. In yeast pyruvate is decarboxylated to form acetaldehyde, which is then reduced by NADH to form ethanol. And catalyzed by enYme alcohol dehydrogenase.
