Bermudagrasses (mainly TifTuf) use the avoidance/tolerance strategy during stress to avoid dessication and tolerate drought. The plant bermudagrass uses several methods to achieve this, like rooting characteristics, adjustment in osmosis and antioxidant metabolism. They are capable of maintaining their rate of photosynthesis as well as rate of transpiration during droughts. In this way, they use the avoidance/tolerance strategy to tackle the stress caused by drought.
